“I had the idea of my home day care when I was on maternity leave with my daughter. I heard of the Family Child Care Training Program offered through ASCY and decided to take it. I am really glad I did!
The course content is very thorough, easy to understand and the workshops are interesting and great fun! I have kept in touch with fellow caregivers and workshop leaders and am currently completing Level 1; I completed Level 2 last year. I wasn’t able to attend the workshops this year, but I am completing the course at home. I read the material, complete the quizzes and assignments and enjoy what I’ve learned!
I’ve been in the child care field for 13 years now, and I do find home child care different from a child care centre. People say that a home child care is more stressful and more work; I don’t find that at all even with all the financial and paperwork involved.
