Welcome to Early Words
The professionals from Early Words welcome you to our website. We hope that this website will prove to be a useful source of information for you. All Early Words members strive to serve needs of young children and their families in Hamilton. Parents and caregivers are the most valuable resource young children have. Early Words is responsible for the implementation of three programs that are centrally administered by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
The Preschool Speech and Language Program is our community-wide system of preschool speech and language services in Hamilton.
The Infant Hearing Program services the needs of young children with permanent hearing loss in the Regions of Brant, Haldimand-Norfolk, Hamilton, and Niagara.
The Blind – Low Vision Early Intervention Program is designed to give children who are born blind or with low vision the best possible start in life. Specialized family-centered services are funded by the province and are available for children from birth to Grade 1.
