
Supervisors' Network
This network is for supervisors, managers and early learning leaders to
share current trends and issues, day to day operations, community initiatives.
A typical agenda offers informal networking time, updates from ASCY, Raising
the Bar, Ministry of Community and Children’s Services re: Day Nurseries
Act, City of Hamilton, Mohawk College, Public Health and many other community
partners as well as a topic based on the current issues and interests
of the participants. This network runs once a month. An evening supervisor’s
network group meets every second month.l.
It’s Mine Network
This network is for staff who work with infants or toddlers to share age-appropriate
information, programming ideas and resources available for this age group.
Picture This Network
This network promotes the class-wide use of visual strategies by sharing
resources and success stories with others in the front line. Participants
are encouraged to bring examples/stories of strategies that are working
for you.
Early Literacy Network
Attend this network to learn more about best practices in literacy programming.
forgoodness sake Network
This network will offer support for staff using and/or anticipating using
forgoodness sake in their program.
Cook’s Network
Cooks from Early Learning and Care centres have the opportunity to share
recipes, menu planning ideas, and health and safety tips with their peers.
Preschool Network
This network is for staff who work with 2 ½ - 5 year olds, to share
age appropriate information, programming ideas and resources available
for this age group.

Raising the Bar for Newcomers Network
Facilitator: Lois Saunders
This network provides a regular, monthly opportunity for early learning
directors, co ordinators, supervisors, leaders to receive support from
the RTB consultant as they prepare to submit their agency or program’s
profile for the first time. This network will be especially beneficial
to supervisors of new programs and supervisors who are preparing a submission
for the first time.
Family Engagement
Network
This network provides an opportunity to discuss strategies, solutions,
success stories and barriers when engaging families in early learning
programs.
Wellness Network
Wellness is about taking responsibility, being accountable and living
conscientiously. Wellness is a choice, a decision to move toward optimum
health and a lifestyle you design to achieve the highest potential for
well being. Come out and share and gather wellness tips for your day to
day life.
AECEO Certification Network
This is a community study group to support ECE certification.
ECERS R Network
This network will give participants an opportunity to acquire tips, gain
clarification and take a deeper look at the ins and outs of interpreting
and making the most of the ECERS R tool in your day to day work in early
learning environments.
School Age Network
This network is for caregivers who work with 6-12 year old children, to
share age appropriate information, programming ideas and resources available
for this group.
New Grad Network
This network is for new and recent graduates of the ECE program at Mohawk
College. This group provides an opportunity to connect with other recent
grads, share ideas, successes and challenges and to keep current in our
ever changing field. Currently two Mohawk ECE faculty, Shirley Bainbridge
and Karen Davis facilitate this very positive mentoring group. For information

Garden to Garden Network
This is an opportunity to share your wealth of plants, seeds, tubers,
corms and bulbs and to get free items. This network meets in the fall
and spring. Participants bring in plants they have divided, seeds they
have collected or bulbs to share with the other participants. This way
we all keep our gardens looking their best and can help them grow without
breaking our budgets. We also share information on gardening and your
gardening experiences with the children at you centre. Come join the adventure
in nature.
Supporting Second Language
Learners Network
Come and join us to share ideas about children and families who speak
a language other than English. We are a very diverse community in Hamilton
and Early Learning professionals can share their joy and teaching strategies
for the ESL children in their classrooms.
