Professional Education at ASCY
The Professional Education Team at ASCY takes pride in providing a wide variety of professional education and events that meet the needs of the early learning and child care community in the city of Hamilton.
Our professional education team responds to community interests, needs and current trends and issues when planning professional education events.
Professional education is provided on a continual basis throughout the year on-site at ASCY, at our satellite location, as well as at many community venues.
Professional education can also be provided on an outreach basis at your site. Please refer to the Outreach menu for possible topic choices. If the topic you are looking for is not listed, do not hesitate to call us and we will do our best to find you a speaker or to develop an education package ourselves.
The Professional Education Team works closely with the community on the collaboration of professional education. The following are some examples: Winter Recharge with the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario, Hamilton Branch (AECEO), Hanen Provincial, City of Hamilton, Ministry of Children and Youth Services, Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB), Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB), InterProfessional Development Working Group, Family Engagement, Early Literacy Hamilton, Mohawk College, McMaster Children’s Hospital, Understanding the Early Years, etc.
The Professional Education Team collects and keeps information updated on current professional education opportunities, conferences, speakers and resources available in our community as well as across Ontario, Canada and the USA.
The Professional Education Team provides mentoring and ongoing support to the early learning community through planned professional education, outreach, on-site consultation and active participation at many local planning tables.
